When you bring your new puppy or dog home, you’re bound to feel a range of emotions. Getting a new pet is exciting, but you might be concerned about how it will fit into your family and whether you are prepared to care for it.  To be safe, here is a list of must-have dog accessories based on my own personal experience, even if you think you’re better prepared than you think. When you have these supplies on hand to help you prepare for dog ownership, it will be easier for you to relax and enjoy your new pup’s company.

Dog Collar Of Proper Size

To begin, you must purchase a collar for your dog as your first dog accessories! You may or may not receive a collar with your new pet, depending on the shelter or breeder, but you’ll most likely want one that matches your personal style. When shopping for a dog collar, look for one with a quick-release clasp for safety and a sturdy D-ring to which you can attach a leash that fits properly around your dog’s neck. Collars with an extra loop for attaching dog tags so they don’t get in the way of your dog’s leash, like this one from Blueberry Pet, are a great feature.

Crate For Unavoidable Snoozes

Although crate training your dog is entirely optional, many pet owners and professional trainers recommend it as dog accessories to have. I kept my dog in her crate until she was about six months old to ensure she didn’t wreck the house or have any accidents while I was gone.

Comfortable Bed Is Ideal For Dogs

If you are unsure whether your new dog is a chewer before purchasing one of these elevated dog beds, you should err on the side of caution and purchase one of those plush, cushy beds. Steel frames support PVC-coated fabric that is extremely long-lasting. In the summer, the elevated design helps to keep your dog cool. Many reviewers say their dogs adore this bed, and they recommend covering it with a blanket or towel if you want to give your dog more cushion.

A Plethora Of Treats For Your Deserving Dog

Milk-Bone is a well-known brand of dog treats because dogs adore it and it is reasonably priced. You can get a huge box of medium-sized snacks that will last you months for only $12! Milk-Bones are high in vitamins and minerals, and their crunchy texture helps remove plaque and tartar from your dog’s teeth.

Durable Rubber Ball Toys

Getting your dog a new toy is always enjoyable, and I highly recommend incorporating some Chuckit! Balls into the mix. Even for dogs who enjoy destroying their toys and dog accessories, the bright orange colour makes them easy to spot in your yard. They also come with a Chuckit! Launcher, which allows you to launch the balls into the air for some intense fetch games.

To conclude I would like to say that above mentioned dog accessories are based on my own personal experience, even if you think you’re better prepared than you think. These accessories can make your dog even more comfortable and relaxed.
